Skin Care FAQ

OUR SKIN CARE PRODUCTS HYDRATING BODY LOTIONS ANTIOXIDANT FACIAL SERUM

Are these products coming directly from the manufacturer? We have worked directly with the manufacturer to customize these formulations to offer the most efficacious skin renewal and revitalization solutions available. Each product has been tested and evaluated to gauge the "complete experience" from consistency and texture to scent and application experience (how does the skin feel upon application? Is the product easily absorbed, etc).

Where are these products manufactured? We have been working with a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Tampa, Fl. The formulator is a biochemist who has been working for decades to provide unique, high-quality nutritional and skin treatment solutions to dermatologists, professional athletes, networking marketing, etc.

What type of skin rejuvenating benefits can I expect from these lotions? Customers have reported numerous benefits, including but not limited to: Diminishes the appearance of transient lines caused by dry, cracked skin. Soothes and penetrates skin without oily residue. Continuously pulls humidity from the air to moisturize your skin. Creates a protective barrier to keep your skin hydrated. Provides anti-fungal and anti-bacterial protection. Reduces the effects of free radical damage.

What makes these lotions unique? Several factors contribute to their uniqueness. The ingredients are organic and all natural. They contain no silicone, alcohol or petrochemicals (like petroleum) which can dry, irritate, or prematurely age your skin. The soft, subtle scents (cucumber and orange blossom) are obtained from plants and nature not perfumes or artificial fragrances. Unlike other moisturizers, lotions or creams, this superior hydrating lotion takes three days to blend to allow the ingredients to emulsify into a luxurious treat for your skin. But the most unique quality about this product is that it pulls moisture and humidity from the air to provide long-lasting moisture to your skin. Since the primary contributors to aging skin are drying and cracking, this lotion can, in effect, help keep your skin looking and feeling younger.

Have these lotions been tested? These lotions have been used by dermatologists without issue or incident. The lotions are not tested on animals.

What is in the lotion? A luxurious blend of polyphenols, antioxidants, essentials oils, healing butters and organic herbs.

What are "polyphenols" and why are they important? Polyphenols, like grapeseed or green tea, provide superior antioxidant protection from environmental damage. This action helps reduce the destruction of free radicals. The grapeseed oil also has moisturizing and nourishing properties due to high linoleic acid (which helps prevent dryness and roughness) content.

What are "antioxidants" and why are they important? Your skin uses antioxidants (like vitamins A, C and E), to neutralize excess free radicals generated by sunlight. With extended exposure to sunlight, the amount of antioxidants in your skin is depleted and must be replenished. Replenishing these antioxidants may help stop or even reverse free-radical damage and put an end to mild inflammation and micro and macro-scarring-or at least repair a good deal of the damage caused over the years. Soft, radiant, younger-looking skin is the gratifying result of antioxidants.

What are "essential oils" and why are they important? Essentials oils are the oily liquids obtained from plants through a variety of processes. They are called "essential" because they were believed to be essential to life and they were the "essence" of plants. A large number of these oils have antiseptic (reducing or preventing infection, especially by the elimination or reduction of the growth of microorganisms), germicidal (a preparation that kills germs) or preservative (having the ability to protect something from decay or spoilage) action. Essentials oils contained in the Lotions include: almond oil, neroli, and jojoba oil. These oils help penetrate the skin to provide long-lasting smooth, silky skin.

What are "healing butters" and why are they important? Healing butters, like the shea butter in the this Lotion, help protect your skin from dehydration and other climatic influences (extremely dry, hot or cold weather). It also restores skin suppleness, increases moisturization, and can improve the appearance of dry, irritated skin. Shea butter is a natural fat obtained from the fruit of the karite tree.

What are "healing herbs" and why are they important? Healing herbs refer to the blend of organic herbs in our Lotion. These herbs include marigold, passion, rose hips and green tea which all have very beneficial skin healing and revitalization qualities. Please refer to next question for specific herb benefits.

What skin-healing ingredients are in these lotions and how are they beneficial?

The following ingredients are beneficial in lotions:
° Chamomile has clinically proven anti-inflammatory and repairer properties. It is considered bactericidal (a substance or agent that destroys bacteria), anti-itching, soothing, antiseptic (reducing or preventing infection), purifying, refreshing and hypoallergenic (not likely to cause an allergic reaction) with the ability to neutralize skin irritations. It has also been found to be good for treating burns as well as dermatitis. It is good for use with acne, dry or hypersensitive (very easily upset) skin.
° Olive Leaf is considered an astringent and antiseptic. It also appears to function as a free-radical scavenger, providing antioxidant properties. It is considered superior to mineral oils in penetrating power.
° Red Raspberry has botanical properties that are described as astringent (closes pores). It is also considered a powerful antioxidant and therefore a great weapon in the first to preserve your skin against, oxidation, free radical damage and premature aging.
° Calendula is a product from the flower of the marigold plant. It is an emollient (softening or soothing, especially to the skin) said to have healing, wound-healing, soothing, antiseptic, anti-itching, and anti-inflammatory properties. It can also be effectively used in case of oily and/or delicate skin as well as for acne.
° Sunflower Oil has smoothing properties and is considered a noncomedogenic (not poor clogging) raw material. It is also high in linoleic acid and essential fatty acid content. It also contains lecithin (a natural antioxidant and emollient).
° Grapeseed Oil has moisturizing and nourishing properties due to its high linoleic acid (emulsifying) content. It is also considered a counterirritant (helps prevent irritation) with soothing and antibacterial properties.
° Almond Oil serves as an emollient and a carrier, providing elegant skin feel and promoting spreadability in creams, lotions and bath oils.
° Glycerin is a humectant used in moisturizers due to its water-binding capabilities that allow it to draw and absorb water from the air. It helps skin retain moisture and has been studied extensively for its moisturizing abilities.
° Shea Butter is an excellent emollient. It alleviates skin dryness, and has sun-protection and high skin-penetration properties.
° Neroli an extract from bitter orange blossom, is used in skin care preparations to stimulate cell regeneration. Given its sedative and soothing properties, it is particularly beneficial for sensitive and delicate skin.
° Caprylic Acid is an emollient with good spreading properties. It promotes penetration and does not leave traces of grease on the skin.
° Propylparaben developed in Europe, is widely used in the cosmetic industry as a preservative as well as a bacteria/fungus killer. They are active against a variety of organisms, are neutral, low in toxicity, slightly soluble, and active in all solutions (alkaline, neutral or acid.) Used medicinally to treat fungus infections and is less toxic than benzoic or salicylic acid.
° Jojoba Oil is a naturally occurring ester as well as a moisturizer and an emollient. Historically, it was held in high regard by the Native Americans in the Sonora desert for its cosmetic properties. Mystical properties have been attributed to it for its apparent ability to heal the skin. It helps provide the skin with suppleness and softness. US companies are now promoting the ingredient in moisturizers as a treatment for "crow's feet," wrinkles, stretch marks, and dry skin.
° Vitamin E (tocopherol) is considered the most important oil-soluble antioxidant and free radical scavenger. Studies show that when applied topically, vitamin E is also a protectant and it helps protect the cellular membrane from free radical damage. In addition, vitamin E serves a preservative function due to its ability to protect against oxidation. As a moisturizer, vitamin E is well-absorbed through the skin, demonstrating a strong affinity with blood vessels. It has been found to reduce transepidermal water loss, thereby improving the appearance of rough, dry and damaged skin.

° Marigold is considered an antiseptic (reducing or preventing infection), healing and soothing. It may be beneficially used against sunburns and other superficial burns due to some emollient (softening or soothing, especially to the skin) capabilities. Traditionally, it was used to heal skin rashes and cleanse little wounds after washing.
° Passion Flower as botanical properties described as calming. Indians used it for swelling and sore eyes.
° Rose hips rich in vitamin C, are described as healing oils due to its antiseptic properties. Studies indicate its ability to improve skin hydration and aid in cases of pruritus (an intense feeling of itchiness) and xerosis (abnormal dryness of the skin). It may also help regulate oil gland secretion.
° Green tea is a powerful antioxidant due to its catechin helps content and is also known to be antibacterial and anti-inflammatory. Catechin-an antioxidant polyphenol from plants that helps stabilize collagen-can penetrate into a cell, thereby protecting the cell from free radicals and associated damage. When applied topically, green tea can help reduce skin swelling.
° Cucumber extract is credited with moisture binding, moisture regulating, soothing, tightening, anti-itching, refreshing, softening, healing and anti-inflammatory properties. It contains amino acids and organic acids that are claimed to strengthen the skin's acid mantle. It is also effective in emulsions as a tightening agent for tired stressed skin and in sun preparations as a refreshener.

Other common ingredients include:
° glyceryl stearate is emulsifier and a skin conditioning ingredient.
° cetearyl glucoside is an emulsifying substance.
° vegetable glycerine is an emollient and emulsifying agent.
° xanthum gum is widely used as a thickener, emulsifier and stabilizer.
° glycine is an amino acid that is used as a texturizer in cosmetic formulations.
° potassium sorbate is used as a mold and yeast inhibitor.
° lecithin is a natural antioxidant and emollient.

How often should I apply the lotion? Apply generously and as often as needed. To maximize your results, also apply at bedtime when optimal skin healing can occur. With regular use your skin will become silky, softer, smoother and visibly healed.

What is an antioxidant facial serum? Serum blends natural and organic ingredients to help you restore the youthful appearance of your face.

What is in it? Serum contains a luxurious blend of antioxidants and natural ingredients (essential oils, healing butters emollients, organic herbs, polyphenols and vitamins A, B, C and E.)

When and how do I use the serum? Apply directly to clean face and neck each morning and evening. Massage in gently using upward strokes. Allow to absorb fully into skin.

How is it different from what's out there? Not all serums are dermatologist-tested and contain no harsh chemicals or dangerous toxins that may be harmful to your skin and detrimental to your health.

What are the benefits of using the Antioxidant Serum? Customers say this powerful, luxurious serum has numerous benefits including: Improves texture and overall appearance of skin. Diminishes fine lines and wrinkles. Evens out pigmentation. Reduces inflammation and the appearance of pores. Stimulates collagen and improves elasticity.

What is DMAE? Why is it important to younger-looking skin? Considered an "instant face lift" because of its firming and tightening properties. Helps diminish lines above and below lips. When combined with other antioxidants helps plump up lips. Stimulates neurotransmitters and inner cellular communication.

What is Alpha Lipoic Acid? Why is it important to younger-looking skin? More staying power than any antioxidant. Prevents under-eye bags and puffiness. Erases lines and wrinkles. Minimizes the appearance of pores. Diminishes acne scars. Improves look of dull skin.

What ingredients provide the light, fresh scent? The scent is provided by an extract from Juniper berries and essential oils

What ingredients provide the luxurious texture and consistency? A number of different things provide the luxurious texture including a number of powerful healing butters-shea, mango, avocado and coco. A special blending process ensures that each raw material is blended in optimal conditions so that nothing is lost, no ingredient is compromised and only the most efficacious, most luxurious product is produced.

Can the serum take the place of my current moisturizer? Because of the moisturizing properties, this serum can definitely replace the products you are using currently. The healing emollients and essential oils should produce the moisturizing benefits you've come to enjoy. The amount of serum you apply will also influence the level of moisturization produced. A delicate balance of skin coverage without over saturating your skin should be achieved. Remember a little goes a long way. The evening is an ideal time to apply a little extra, as this is when your skin is primed for revitalizing effects.

Can I put my foundation on top of the serum? Definitely! Give your skin a few minutes to completely absorb the serum then apply your foundation right on top. You shouldn't see any issues with bunching, rolling or cracking.

Can men use the serum? Absolutely! Not only does the serum help to replenish the moisture stripped away from shaving, it provides cells a nice nutrient base as well as to slow the appearance of a 5 o'clock shadow. With continued use, it will make a man's face easier to shave.

Can a one ounce bottle last a month? Probably.  The serum should be applied at least once a day. We strongly recommend that you use it twice (morning and night). If your skin is severely dry or inflamed, if you have additional skin challenges or if you live in extremely dry climates we recommend that you reapply the serum as often and as liberally as your skin requires to keep the cells nourished and hydrated.
